Two Bit Circus is Coming to Town
It has been a few years coming, but Two Bit Circus is finally here!
What is Two Bit Circus, you may ask? Well, they describe themselves as a "brand new type of social playspace. In the freshly redesigned building, Two Bit Circus will bring people of all ages together, elbow-to-elbow, to play amid an ever-changing landscape of immersive entertainment; including multi-person virtual reality, narrative-based escape/story rooms, indie arcades, an interactive theater, molecular mixology, a robot bartender and more!"
In other words, it's a mix between a visually scrumptious pop-up, and a Dave and Busters on steroids. But, it's so much more than that. It is immersive entertainment at its finest. It's a carnival, it's an arcade, it's a mix of fun and it is simply fantastic!
It is the brainchild of founders Brent Bushnell and Eric Gradman.
A few weeks ago, a friend of ours told me about the Two Bit Circus camp her son attended over summer. So, when she mentioned that they were opening the doors to this immersive facility of fun, we just had to go!
When we arrived at the Grand Opening Celebration, we were greeted by stilt walkers, jugglers, and other circus entertainers.
We walked around, exploring all of the things set up for us to see and do, as we waited for the ceremony to begin.
It was hot, but we were given drink tickets and enjoyed cool refreshments as we walked around.
Among those in attendance were, Bill Nye the Science Guy and Mayor Eric Garcetti.
After both gave their speeches, along with speeches from founders, Brent Bushnell and Eric Gradman, they were ready to break the giant LEGO wall, letting us into the building.
As the LEGO wall came down, our fun day was just beginning.
The number of different virtual reality games and experiences was staggering. The arcade was amazing, the mechanical bar, on point. Did I mention there are two bars? The escape rooms were fun to explore... need I say more?
The kids loved the arcade games.
So many games!
Food-wise, there are plenty of options for all, so stopping for a snack is simple and easy.
Virtual reality, virtual reality, virtual reality!
Escape rooms.
